			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>MKG is a software company that provides a complete support system to small-medium businesses in the metal manufacturing sector. The company was interested in updating their software package from a Windows 98 look to a more modern feel, similar to that of Windows XP. In order to effectively do so, over 300 icons were redesigned.</p>
<p>Throughout the design process, MKG clients were kept in mind, as it was important for clients to still recognize the icons they had become accustomed to and be able to use the new software without adding an additional learning curve. All icons were designed in 9 different formats (differing only in the number of colours used and the size of the image) to ensure that they are backward compatible with older operating systems.<span id="more-121"></span></p>
